Can you perform the ADAS calibration at my home or office?
Yes, for certain vehicles. Some cars require a "dynamic calibration," which we can perform on the road during a test drive. However, many vehicles require a "static calibration." This requires a controlled, level indoor environment with specialized laser targets, specific lighting, and no floor clutter.
How do I know if my car can be calibrated on the road?
When you book your appointment, provide us with your vehicle's year, make, and model. Our team will look up your manufacturer's specific guidelines and let you know if your vehicle requires a controlled shop environment or if it qualifies for mobile service.
What are the requirements if you calibrate my car at my location?
If your vehicle supports mobile calibration, we require a flat, level surface and clear weather conditions. Extreme rain, heavy snow, or dense fog can interfere with the camera's ability to read road markings during the calibration drive.

Qualification and Virginia Inspection Rules
How do I know if my windshield can be repaired or if it needs to be replaced?
To qualify for a repair and successfully pass a Virginia state vehicle inspection, the glass damage must meet very strict safety guidelines:
The total area of the damage must be the size of a quarter or smaller.
The precise impact point where the object hit the glass must be smaller than 1 cm.
The damage must be located on the outside layer of glass only.
If your chip or crack is larger, deeper, or has multiple impact points, a full windshield replacement will be required to keep your vehicle safe and street-legal.
Can I check if my chip is repairable before making an appointment?
Yes, and we highly recommend it! To help us determine the probability of a successful outcome, please take a clear photo of the damage while holding a quarter right next to it for scale. Email the photo to us at info@championautoglass.com, and our technicians will review it.

How long does a windshield repair take?
A standard professional chip repair is very fast. It typically takes approximately 45 minutes or less to complete.
Do you charge extra for mobile auto glass service?
No, our mobile service is completely free. We can bring our equipment directly to your home or office. Please note that certain restrictions apply to mobile work; we require safe weather conditions (no heavy rain or extreme snow) and a workable environment to complete the service safely.
Warranty and The Risk of Spreading
Does your windshield repair come with a warranty?
Yes! All of our chip repairs come backed by a lifetime warranty.
Is there a chance the windshield could crack further during a repair?
In rare cases, yes. Repairing a windshield involves applying pressure to an already damaged, weakened area of glass. Because of this, it is possible for the damage to spread during the repair process.
Who pays if the damage spreads while you are trying to fix it?
We want our customers to be fully aware of this rare physical possibility prior to beginning any work. Because the glass is already structurally compromised, Champion Auto Glass, Inc. is not responsible for a replacement if a crack spreads during our attempt. However, if this rare event occurs, there is absolutely no charge for the repair attempt, and we will credit the proposed cost of that repair directly toward your new replacement windshield.

Will a windshield repair cost me anything out of pocket?
In many cases, it won't cost you a dime. To save money on full replacements, some insurance companies completely waive your comprehensive deductible for repairs, providing the fix at zero cost to you.
